"Holstien's Fire Safety Class"

This program was designed by Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department so that we can more effectively teach Fire Prevention and Safety to children. During this class "Holstien", our fire prevention mascot, teaches children the importance of getting out of a house fast, and staying out of a house that is on fire.  The steps to take when getting out of a house are reinforced by "Holstien" in a fun and memorable way.  This helps us make sure that the children remember the lessons we are teaching them.

Extended and Assisted Living Facilities Education

Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department also educates extended living facilities utilizing the Assisted Living Facility EMERGENCY Plan of Action Curriculum.  The class trains staff members in preplanning for an emergency at an extended care facility, recognizing an emergency, steps to take when an emergency presents itself, evacuation techniques and fire extinguisher usage. The class goal is to prepare staff members of an assisted living facility in case an emergency happens.

PREVENT FIRES - SAVE LIVES, a fire safety campaign for people 50 - plus

An educational program targeting retired adults.  Program outlined by the United States Fire Administration, and used to educate adults on the importance of fire prevention and safety.  Special considerations are made in this program for adults who are effected by the ageing process.

"No Child Without - Smoke Detector Program"

This program helps us ensure that every child has a smoke detector within their house.  This year alone the Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department has distributed more than 50 smoke detectors to the residences of children in our service area. 

"Email Holstien and Fire Prevention Web Site"

This web site gives children the opportunity to email "Holstien", our fire prevention mascot, with their fire safety questions or concerns. This web site also includes Downloads of our fire prevention class, along with links to other fire prevention and safety web sites.

"Fire Prevention and Safety Tool Distribution Post Emergency Calls"

The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department makes sure that after every emergency call we find out if the home owner has proper fire prevention and safety tools.  If we find a home is lacking in a specific area we supply them with the appropriate tool. Fire Prevention and Safety tools include smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, second story escape ladders, and fire extinguishers. The Adamsburg and Community Volunteer Fire Department does this to help ensure the safety of the community we protect.
